Winter hike from Schwende towards Osterberg
Tour description
This varied winter hiking trail is characterized by different landscapes; it leads through agricultural areas, sunny slopes, a snow-covered moorland, and spruce forests to snow-covered mountain meadows. The winter hike starts at Gasthof Bergblick and leads over sunny slopes with views of a charming moorland to the alpine guesthouse Hörnlepass. Here, the winter hiking trail runs partly parallel to the cross-country ski trail along the state border to the idyllic high valley basin in Außerwald. The prepared winter hiking trail ends on a sunny slope near an old barn with very rewarding views of the Allgäu and Kleinwalsertal peaks. The hike returns by the same route to the starting point.

Tips
The south-facing slopes in Schwende and Außerwald already get early sun - an early morning start is therefore possible.

The starting point of the winter hiking trail is located directly at the Schwendeloipe and runs partly parallel and very close to the prepared ski track. Winter hikers and cross-country skiers show consideration here. Pedestrians do not enter the ski track but stay on the winter hiking paths.
