Steinbock trail: Large skating loop
Tour description
The Steinbock trail stands out as a very snow-safe trail. It is relatively centrally located and offers an impressive alpine winter landscape with trail sections in the Gemstel and Derra valleys.
About 9 km of the entire Steinbock trail network is prepared for skating technique. The large skating loop leads from the Bödmen district to Baad and into the Derra valley. It winds in several loops over Birkenwies, Gemstelboden, and through Wiesele.
On the Steinbock trail, there are 5 possible skating circuits as well as a training area: the Birkenwies loop (2.2 km / 43 m elevation), the Bödmen-Baad loop (7.5 km / 144 m elevation), the Derra loop (1.6 km / 51 m elevation), the Weiher loop (3.3 km / 61 m elevation), and the Wiesele loop (3.6 km / 79 m elevation).
The intermediate to difficult loops can be individually skied or combined. The Wiesele loop features a nearly 4 km long trail section that is snow-covered.
Trail entries are located at Birkenwies, at the Weiher parking lot, in Baad, and at the Aparthotel.
