Exhibition Paula Weil: A Journey Through…
The drawings by Paula Weil deal with places of travel and encounter, such as cafés. People come and go, conversations and glances intersect, brief moments of connection arise. She herself spends hours there, observing, sketching, and becoming part of the events. This results in drawings that create new realities through the layering of space and time, where more community takes place in the everyday hustle and bustle. Her drawings show how much beauty is hidden in the inconspicuous moments of daily life. We just have to discover them.
Paula was born in Stuttgart and studied architecture. Her master's thesis "Everyday Coexistence" deals with community and the question of how coexistence develops when a new neighborhood is created.
The work was created as part of the project "the open valley," where artists are invited to showcase their work in public. An initiative by artist and curator Mathias Kessler for the Cultural and Customs Working Group of the Municipality of Mittelberg.
